KOCHI: The School of Management Studies (SMS) at the University of Science and Technology of Cochin (Cusat) has started a program called ‘Oppam’ to raise awareness of the human immunodeficiency virus – acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV -AIDS) through gamification.
The project, initiated in association with the observation of World AIDS Day and carried out in association with the Kerala State AIDS Control Society as part of Cusat’s social outreach activities, incorporated four major gamification interventions for its implementation. effective. These include a celebrity campaign titled “Don’t Feel the Shame”, a public campaign at Government Medical College titled “Be Santa Claus”, a live AIDS awareness quiz and an interactive session on the topic. “Women and Reproductive Rights – Implementing the Medicine Termination of Pregnancy Act”.
Manu Melwin Joy, SMS professor and gamification expert, said the goal of the “Feel no Shame” campaign is to break the stigma surrounding AIDS and HIV.
“We will be creating the hashtag #Feelnoshame, with social influencers motivated to share a secret about them. #Feelnoshame posts aim to open the conversation about what we fear most to help normalize the perception of such secrets,” he said. he declared.
