TWC is a leading community health and social services agency in Washington, DC that provides education and awareness activities designed to support girls and women living with HIV/AIDS and their families. The Women’s Collective focuses on preventing HIV and promoting resilience among women and girls.

At TWC, we believe that HIV testing empowers women and girls to protect themselves, educate their partners, and plan for healthy families. Their prevention programs focus on early identification of HIV and establishing effective access to care. Our philosophy at TWC is that every woman who walks through our door is equal, whether she is a customer, staff member, board member or volunteer. Women are not judged on the basis of their school results or their diplomas, or their socio-economic background.

Many women have taken to social media for information and help, spending a lot of time online seeking advice and solutions for a healthy lifestyle. TWC takes the opportunity to showcase the online community that allows women to chat with like-minded people, ask any questions they want, and get support from people who understand them. TWC is hailed as the ideal healthy platform for women to get the support needed to lead a healthy and sustainable life.

The HER (Help + Empowerment + Resources) program designed by TWC to reduce the number of new HIV transmissions in high-risk communities has empowered millions of people. The program provides outreach services, resources and links to HIV prevention drugs (PrEP) and other prevention tools that empower women and girls to take charge of their lives and health.

The Women’s Collective also provided women-specific services focused on care management, prevention, policy and advocacy. In a warm and welcoming space, HIV-positive women and their families find acceptance, counseling and peer support, and help with daily living. TWC is a safe, stigma-free place that reflects the Founder’s understanding of each person who enters as an individual with unique experiences and needs.

TWC’s goal is to bring together volunteers from diverse backgrounds to help create sustainable projects in the development of girls and women living with HIV, while providing opportunities for volunteers to engage in fun extracurricular activities. who embrace life and culture to make a meaningful impact.

Our preparations for the upcoming annual holiday toy drive are at Top Gear and they are currently accepting new culturally appropriate toys for girls and boys ages 0-16. This event is very festive, with gifts, food, face painting, music and a visit from Santa Claus. We also need gifts for moms and grandmothers during the annual holiday event, scheduled for December 15, when we also celebrate their families. Your monetary donations, gifts and other valuable donations to the program are welcome and appreciated.
